Summer learning journey week 1 day 3

Activity 1

Activity 2
1. The good thing about being a ranger is that you can interact with the endangered animals.
2.  You get to see them in there natural habitat.
3. You would also get to learn about rare animal

1. The bad thing about being a ranger is that you might get lonely because there are only a few people that can be employed and you may spend long periods of time alone.
2. It would be really sad to seeing one of the animals pass away.
3.  Other people that are not allowed to be on the island may come and  take some animals to sell or to kill.

  1. Kia ora Hunter,

Your Giraffopotamus looks great! A very creative combination of animals. Does it have any special powers like the creatures on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them? My favourite beast from that movie is the Demiguise - he kind of looks like a monkey and has the ability to make himself invisible!

You've made some really good points, both for and against becoming a DOC Ranger. If I had the chance, I would definitely want to be a ranger for a day or two - just to see what it's like. Do you think you'd like to be a DOC Ranger?

Well done for answering the WWF questions in full sentences. It makes it so much easier for your readers to understand :) It sounds like the WWF are doing an amazing job. Building snow banks must be hard work though. Did the video say how long it takes them?

Congratulations on completing another days worth of activities, Hunter. Keep up the great blogging! :)

    Talk soon,

    Mikey

  2. I think you would find the Giraffopotamus in a forest, it would have special powers like being able to breathe in and out of water.
I think I would be a ranger for the day, it might be hard work but probably rewarding too.
It would take a long time to build a snow bank, the video does not say how long but im sure it would be many many hours.

  3. Good morning Hunter,

Being able to breathe under water is a great power for a fantastic beast to have! Your Giraffopotamus would be able to explore parts of the ocean that have never been seen before! Imagine all the weird and wonderful creatures he would come across.

I think you're right. A friend of mine used to work for DOC and he worked very hard but he loved the job. Are there any particular animals you would really like to work with?

Kia pai to rā Hunter (have a good day).

    Mikey :)
