Summer Learning Journey Day 16

Activity 1
Celebrating a win

For special events in our house we do different things. Sometimes we have a BBQ with everyone, we might have a birthday party if it is one of the kids birthdays or we might go out to dinner at a restaurant. I like that we do different things, it just depends on whose birthday it is.

Activity 2
Lord of the Rings

How would I spend my $300 million?

1. I would fix my mums house because it is only half finished with repairs.
2. I would give $1 million to charity.
3. Get professional dog trainers to train my dogs and teach me how to train them.
4. Buy cars for my sisters.
5. Buy myself a Playstation pro.
6. Take my family on a massive holiday.
7. Buy all the new video games.
8. Give my mum money so she doesn't have to work lots.
9. Get myself a whole new wardrobe of clothes and shoes.

Bonus Activity

  1. Hi there Hunter,

Jade F here! Well done on making this far on your Summer Learning Journey, final week; let’s make it count!

What you do for special occasions in your family in the first activity are some of things I do with my family for special occasions; barbecues or dinners at restaurants are always a good thing to do on occasions. I have a tradition in my family and that’s after dinner, we go to my grandparents place for cake and ice cream, no matter the birthday, it always ends with cake at my grandparents place! What do you usually choose for dinner when it’s your birthday? I usually go for pizza!

With your second activity, I thought your list of things you would do with that large amount of money was really thought out and that’s great to see that you would give $1 million to charity! I also liked how you mention in points that you would provide your family with house repairs, siblings with cars and a massive holiday. It looks like you would spend it very well Hunter, good job! I have brothers who would probably do the same thing with buy all new video games. They’re gamers just like you! Which brings me to your bonus activity! I like that you’ve taken a selfie with a playstation controller! Good stuff! I’ve only just started playing playstation, my brothers are trying to teach me how to play games like Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Fortnight, which i see that you play as well! If you had to rank your favourite video games, what would you say was your top pick?

Hope to hear from you soon and keep up the awesome work Hunter! :)

    Bye for now,

    Jade F :)

    1. Hey there Hunter,

      Right on!
Great job on ranking your favourite games. Those all seem like pretty awesome games! I'm still trying to get my head around the controls on Playstation but I feel like once I get used to them, I might start playing Fortnight with my brothers!

  5. Kia Ora Hunter,

Georgia here from the Kaikohekohe cluster. I loved reading through your activities, great work!

Those sound like really nice things to do for special events. We also do similar things in my family. We have lots of BBQs with the whole family, or we go out for dinner like you and your family. What is your favourite way to celebrate a birthday in your family?

Those are some great ideas to spend $300 million, it sure is a lot of money! It seems like you have thought out lots of different ways to spend the money, it's great that you are really getting into the activities. Those are some very generous ideas too, helping your mum fix the house, giving money to charity, and buying cars for your sisters. Awesome!

Good work on the bonus activity too. I don't play playstation often but I used to when I was younger. My favourite games were Crash Bandicoot and car racing. Your games sound fun though!

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more blog posts soon.
